20th Century City and Architectural Heritage: 1910-1999
City and Architectural Heritage of the 20th century: 1910-1999, is the theme of the Research Grants Program in the area of City and Architecture.
Several Portuguese Municipalities have established themselves as partners of this National Program that maintains a special focus on the role of Architecture in the protection and preservation of the national cultural heritage with the accomplishment of an unprecedented work of technical and scientific research in the areas of Architecture and / or Heritage, namely : Cascais, Funchal, Mafra, Maia, Matosinhos, Porto, Santa Maria da Feira and Vila Nova de Gaia.
The Research Scholarship Program also has the Millennium bcp Foundation as patron, and the Order of Architects as a scientific partner.
The Millennium Program - Research Grants for City and Architecture consists of supporting the development of new technical and scientific studies that demonstrate the uniqueness and excellence of Heritage built in the 20th century, a relevant contribution to the enrichment of the patrimonial charter of the Municipalities, support and Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of the 20th century, contribution to the design of strategies to safeguard the heritage, participation in the creation of new and innovative routes and tourist and cultural circuits and will facilitate the territorial employability of young people.
